Through many photos, handicrafts and books, the Vietnamese Embassy staff
and students introduced international friends to the land and people of
Vietnam as well as the country’s socio-economic development and its
policies to overcome the adverse impacts of the global financial crisis.
At the fair, traditional dance performances staged by Vietnamese students received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
On the occasion, The HagueOnline, an organisation offering support to
activities of overseas communities in the Hague , worked with the
Vietnamese Embassy to publish 15,000 pamphlets themed, “The Fair
Magazine 2011”, which devotes one page to promote Vietnam ’s image.
With over 90 booths, the fair drew some 150 domestic and international
cultural and sports organisations and about 3,000 visitors, mainly from
the Dutch cities of Amsterdam , the Hague , Rotterdam and Utrecht .
Apart from Vietnam , overseas communities from Thailand , Malaysia and
Ireland also came here to introduce their special cultures, sports and
cuisine.
